The things occupying my crafty hands this week

I have been on catch up since the exams finished and i am catching up on loads of unfinished LO's. Here is one i did for Pam's scrapbooking outside of the box challenge over a t carolines craft. The challenge was to use fimo or similar onto a LO to add a third dimension. For this LO i made the title out of fimo and the heart.

Cuties

I have also done a few LO's for Paula's little things challenge. The first was to scrap something that happened that week. As it was revision and exam's that was very important to me that week then it just seemed right to scrap it. It will give the boys something to remember about how stressed i was at the time.

Exams

The next challenge was to produce a LO about something we made. Mine was both made and a LO as I made a clock for my craft room. It is made from 12 x 12 mdf and covered in the wall paper that will be in the craft room. I used a clock overlay ( heidi swapp)which i ruined in my haste and had to make another one myself using a download from google. The clock itself was from a charity shop-75p. All the buttons was an idea from Alex. I loved this prompt as i will look at the clock and Daniel and Alex everytime i am in my little craft room.

I am so loving my scrapbooking at the moment.

Time to let my brain cells rest now so take care.

Additional post

Here are a few quick pics of the cards I also made with the NSD kit.

The kit just went on and on, great value for money

Yes yes yes, I have won something

I purchased a beautifull scrapbook kit from Carolinez craftz kitz to celebrate national scrapbooking day. Caroline was also running a competion in conjunction if you purchased the kit. A LO or project would be chosen from those that entered a LO using the kit. The prize was to be a small guest spot as a design team member and a goody box.

And i found out yesterday that I had won it. I was so pleased as i have never one anything big before. The NSD kit was jam packed with papers, ribbons, buttons, chipboard flowers and paper bags in lush icecream colours which just cried out to be used for my BOM album.

Here is the LO that caroline and her team liked most. I used the paper bags to make a mini book of all my life induced funny faces.

Detachable paperbag book

There was so much in the kit that i just kept going. I made 2 more LO's, some cards and something a little bit different using Mayo Road large chipboard flowers.

You can go and check out all the other entrants over at carolinez craftz kits or the forum.

Off to bed now but will be back tomorrow with some more projects I have done recently.

Nighty night

Finally all over

Well I had my last exam on thursday and I think it went well. There was nothing on there that I was not expecting and I answered the questions I was most confident with. All the college stuff was packed away on thursday night and the table refilled with craft stuff instantly.

I have spent the weekend relaxing and doing nothing inparticular. Got some scrapbooking done, watched lots of TV and did some reading. I finally managed to get Erika's LO from the Aberdeen event finished and will upload later.

I also managed to get this week's little things challenge done by Paula over at a Spoonful of sprinkles. The prompt was to include the word love in some way or form, be it in the journally or stickers etc. Here is mine all about Alex when he was 1 year's old. I used K & Co papers and the little cherub journalling card was downloaded from Paula's just journalling web site. You can also see all the other LO's for this competition over at carolines craftze forum.

I also completed a prompt for my BOM challange set by Roz over at UKS. The prompt was to do a LO about the what ifs in life. This is quite significant to me as at the moment I am debating whether to give up my much loved job and attend college full time to complete my science degree. I always regret leaving collge to get my dream job at the time and I am wondering if I dont go for this now will I regret this decision as well.

I got to go and play at my crop group today. I love going to the crop over at Macduff as there is such a mixed bag of talent there, ranging from scrappers too cardmakers and jewellary makers. We discuss lots of ideas and LO's and eat lots of cake and biscuits. Today i got more details about an event that Sandra is organising. It will be in Macduff at a local hotel on Saturday 1st and Sunday 2nd of September. Dyan from Art from the Heart and co owner of Blonde Moments will be teaching over the course of the weekend. Further details about classes and workshops is still to be finalised but the agenda is as followed, subject to confirmation

Saturday 1st
9.00 Coffee upon arrival
9.30 - 6.00 Teaching by Dyan

Mid and afternoon coffee breaks and lunch are included.
Teaching room will be available to complete projects and crop afterwards.

Sunday 2nd
9.00 Coffee upon arrival
9.30 - 4.30 Teaching by Dyan

Mid and afternoon coffee breaks and lunch are included.
Teaching room will be available to complete projects and crop afterwards until very late on Sunday

The cost of this event will be £200 per person. I feel this is reasonable as it covers the cost of all classes for 2 whole days, the cost of the hotel room hire and meals and drinks througout the day. Yes there are other similar events going on around the UK and Abroad but for many people it is often not convenient to travel to these far away events. Something on the doorstep is ideal to me.

It is a ideal oppertunity to learn new skills, gather ideas and meet like minded crafters from the area. Crating oppertunities are often hard to find this far north in Scotland so Sandra should be congratulated on trying to bring new craft things to the area.

That's my mamouth post over with. I dont know, I dont post for weeks on end and then you cant get me off here.

By for now

On a coffee break!

Whilst I have a few minutes from revision, I thought i'd post a few pics that are backing up.

I was asked to take part in the sketch challenge for scrapbook inspirations. I had so much fun trying to produce a digital LO and ended up creating 4.

This was the Chosen LO for the May edition which just happened to be Daniels birthday month. He loved seeing his self in print as he is suffering with his health at the moment and it cheered him up alot.

This was my second choice.

Not long now

Just a few days until my exams are over and then I am free to do what ever I want. I can get back to my much loved craft, do some well needed gardening and some housework and decorating.

Here is what I have been upto this week. I squeezed in some scrapbooking here and there in between revision. I purchased a kit to celebrate National Scrapbooking Day from Carolinez Craftz Kitz. The kit was just jam packed with paper, flowers, buttons, threads and ribbons. The papers where in delicious icecream colours and just suited pages of ME.

Here is what I have produced so far.

The first one is a representation of me @ 32

The second one is about being happy

The third is about my funny faces and how the pressures of life are reflected on my face. It contains a removable paper bag book of various funny, moody, angry, silly faces. The inserts can be added too over the course of the year.
